I threw these ten jug bird bodies back in early October and kept them moist until I had time to continue working on them.
Here they are just over a week ago when I had thrown a few more and I had got them all assembled with spouts and handles and slip-painted, waiting to dry.
And this is a photo of my work from the recent bisque and glaze firings. The lower shelves were filled with tiles, and some terra cotta coloured flower pots I’ve made to give a home to some volunteer jade plants. Mara’s garlic pot is there too.
My Pileated Woodpeckers seem to be the most popular so this flock had three. And people seem to like the blue and red combination of the not-a-specific bird. Just for my record I am posting photos of all the others.
I’m not expecting to get any more finished before Christmas, although I might be able to get some in the firing I plan for a big group of ‘Raiders’ who are scheduled to come out to Port Moody on Dec 3rd. I have my work cut out making enough plates and platters for them, and getting jugbirds and tiles delivered.
