It might make more sense to read today’s three blogs in the reverse order. I wrote the third, below, first.
Each of the artists in the High Fire Culture show had a Yunomi displayed on individual shelves. I photographed the ones that appealed to me.
At the end of Shelly Rosenblum’s talk in the second gallery yesterday we watched as Martin Peters sat at his very-clean Leach kick wheel. There was discussion about how realistic it was to see it so spruced up. But Nora insisted that the wheel, made in Minnesota exactly to Leach standards was a work of art in itself.
Martin Peters’ studio mate Ron Vallis will be throwing pots on this wheel on Saturday June 15th as part of Vancouver’s Draw Down drawing day.
Finally I wanted to include the BC Binning painting, one that my son and I really like.
The show will be open in Satellite Gallery until July 6th. 2013. Don’t miss it!
