The day after our TriCity Potters meeting last week I took the long-promised twelve jug birds to Vancouver Airport. As usual Alan took good photos of them so that I have a record of what each gallery has, and also to remind myself of what details I’ve chosen to apply to each bird design.
When I got to YVR I found that the manager Soly Feng had ordered the new jugbirds before all the others had sold. She’s learning that I don’t keep a stock of them at home! So as I left I saw that there are actually 19 jugbirds available for people making a ‘Domestic Departure’. All are made starting with 1 1/4 lb of clay, and although their size and shape vary they are all priced at $90.
I see that Kinichi Shigeno has a made a large delivery of new work this week. There is a good selection of pottery as well as other crafts in this Hudson News outlet.
Earlier this week a customer contacted me to ask where to find a jugbird for her friend so I was able to direct her to Crafthouse YVR. Now she’s sent me this photo of a staff person holding the jug bird she chose. It’s still exciting to get an idea of where my creations have flown – this one to UK.
Today as I left recent English visitors at the airport for their flight home I took another look at the display. Crafthouse had asked me to leave business cards with them. That’s unusual but I guess they like customers to be reminded of what they saw on the way to their flight. Thanks Crafthouse for taking care of my work.
Very nice Gillian! I recognize this shop, and will check these out next time I am at the Airport. 🙂
Cheers
