Don’t forget that tomorrow evening is meeting night for TriCity Potters. 7pm at Port Moody Arts Centre. Please bring one or two pots that you’ve made or found for a discussion. Are you happy with the glaze, form or idea? Do you want advice on improvements or pricing? Your fellow members will offer suggestions.
We’ll also have a brief AGM, announcements about upcoming events and a chance to take a look at all our plates. They’ll be displayed ready for the launch of the Dutch Auction in aid of the Arts Centre Building Fund on Thursday evening. I hope you’ll come to that as well as the first evening of the Blackberry Gift Shop Christmas show.
On Friday we invite you to our own Christmas Pottery Sale, down on nearby Clarke Street, in Ysabella Choung’s Spatial Arts studio. It will continue all day Saturday and Sunday as well and is a good chance to see what TriCity Potters members have made especially for Christmas giving.
One other little note, on interesting tidbits that appear as a result of writing a blog. I recently heard from Bill MacKinnon of Three Centuries Antiques in Vancouver’s Armoury District. www.FineAntiquesStore.com He saw that I had written about Kinichi Shigeno’s show at Gallery of BC Ceramics some time ago and was wondering where he could go to see more of his work. It turns out he has inherited a rather fine tea-set, with interlocking parts, made by Kinichi in his distinctive style and colours. I wonder when it was made? Here are the photos he sent. I think I may have to go down to the shop and see what he’s asking for a second-hand Shigeno!
