Celebration!

Here are some photos taken at last night’s Opening at the Gallery of BC Ceramics. This month’s show is titled ‘Celebration’ and it marks sixty years since the BC Potters Guild was formed. I have to admit being a member back in the early seventies, but I am not a founding member!

Current members were invited to submit up to three pieces to the show so there is work from around the province,  showing every sort of ceramic technique.

There were lots of familiar faces at the gathering and I hope that many other current members and others will make a point of visiting our gallery during the month of April. I believe the show will be up until the 28th, with another show opening on April 30th.

I couldn’t possibly take photos of everything in the show so these are pieces that caught my attention. Several TriCity Potters Group members also belong to BC Potters Guild so I was happy to see their work. Presenters to our group represented in the show are Vincent Massey, Keith Rice-Jones, Suzy Birstein and next meeting’s presenter Ying Yueh Chuang.

Great synopsis and images, Gillian. Thanks for posting…us “out-of-towners” have trouble getting to so many of these openings. See you soon. Susan
