There are some gorgeous little birds at my sister Mary’s bird-feeder in England. They’re English Goldfinches and are completely different from our all-yellow-with-a-little-black ones here in British Columbia.

I recently saw them again and managed to get a photo. Here is my English Goldfinch jugbird.

Another bird is not the colour we in North America would expect. The Eurasian Oriole is all yellow, not the orange of a Baltimore Oriole, and except for his longer, curved bill is much more like our Goldfinch. Again, here is my jugbird version.

The glaze kiln is firing tonight so in a couple of days I’ll see how my newest bird, our cheery house finch, turns out.
