I didn’t get in to see Amy Chang’s show of extraordinary ceramic objects at Port Moody Arts Centre until the very last day. So I’m sorry that I can’t suggest you see them too! but I do think I should record some of her amazing pieces here.
The show’s title ‘Industrial Revolution’ tells us that she is interested in fabricating mechanical vehicles out of clay. They are very skilfully made and at first have one believe that they incorporate other materials, but except for the inclusion of some metal screws, all parts are clay.
Her artist statement is useful, and for further information you can check out her bio on CCBC’s website (link below).
Amy has donated a piece for the ‘Oven and Kiln’ Auction. Check the catalogue link in my previous blog.
I hope you enjoy my photos of her imaginative creations.
Congratulations on a fine show Amy, and I apologize for not checking it out sooner or attending the opening.

Her stuff really is beautifully crafted and wildly original I remember her show at the BC Gallery of Ceramics a while back.
