Sweet Sixteen

Here is a chance to take a better look at the latest sixteen teeny plates (5 1/2″). I have them in groups of four, just to save space here. A Baker’s Dozen will be carefully packed up tomorrow and mailed to Jonathon’s. I wonder what London folks will think of my playful plates?

There were also some custom Christmassy plates in this firing. I’d made a tiny plate with this crisp lime green, a dark green and some red dots and I was asked to make some bigger plates to match. If you would like me to do the same thing for you with any of my colour combinations above, I’d be happy to make your order.. not a whole dinner set btw! a bowl, dish, bigger plate, cup, you tell me. I have a feeling I’ll want some projects to pass the January and February days as we wait for Spring again, and a vaccine!

Meanwhile my bisque firing ended this morning so I’ll be getting some stoneware creatures lined with glaze and wadded ready to deliver to Shadbolt Centre on Wednesday.

I really like your little plates. The colours are so vibrant and I love the fact that they are all different. Where do you get the inspiration for the designs?
And other than Vancouver, where do you sell your work?
And by the way I was out in Port Moody a few years ago visiting a friend. Had I known about you Inwouls have dropped by.
I am a meme we if the Hill Potters Guild and was just on the zoom call. Very nice work.
    Thanks. Elaine

Thanks for getting in touch Elaine, checking my website and blogs and for letting me know that you like my work. The designs on the the plates are really just made by using the turning wheel to make circles and the marks that a brush loaded with slip makes. Sometimes they resemble leaves or flowers.. who knows?!
When we aren’t in a pandemic I take part in a community ArtWalk and folks can visit my studio. Otherwise my work goes in to Circle Craft Co-op on Granville Island in Vancouver. Sadly my Victoria galery has closed.
Do drop by if you’re ever in Port Moody again.
