October pots

I think members of TriCity Potters were pleased with the results of our group soda firing at the end of October. The rain poured down so we had to pack up our work quickly after we’d finished scraping and kiln-washing the shelves so there was no time to consider each other’s pieces. At our upcoming meeting on Wednesday Nov. 20th members have been asked to bring one along to show us.

I have taken photos of my pots so you can see how the technicians achieved good melty surfaces. In some cases I have two views of a pot to show how the colour can vary. My two biggest and best pieces are not here as I have plans for them next year.

Tea Caddy 5 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Blue Jugbird 6" tall
Brown Jugbird with yellow bill 6 1/2" x 9 1/2"
Vase with circles 6" tall
Dazzle Vase 7" tall
Splendid Carved Vase! 7" tall
Sweet blue Tea-pot 5 1/2" x 9"

This handled pouring bowl has  some grooves and a good yellow glaze inside.

2 wee carved dishes 2" and 3"
Pouring Bowl 4 1/2" x 8"

Finally, there were some drinking vessels.. a yunomi with a fine red glazed interior, two different mugs and a sweet dimpled beaker. I have an appointment to make a final delivery for this year to Circle Craft on Thursday.

Two mugs 4 1/2" high
yunomi with red interior 3 1/2"
dimpled blue beaker with red interior 4 1/2"
